Case questions

Ok, got a small problem and need some advice. I have a chenbro full tower case I got a while back and modded it work with my watercooling system. Well.... times have changed and I want to move my rad to another spot. I originally had it here:

Now I want to move the radiator down to the bottom to pull in cool outside air. This is not the problem, the problem is the gaping hole I'll have at the back of my case. Normally I would just put another 120mm fan with a guard to cover it, but I had to make a slight cut to accomadate the fan power lead. In retrospect I should have mounted the fan inside, but hindsight is 20/20.

Now the question. Is it possible to weld on these thin steel cases? I know how to weld, but dunno if I can use a low wattage welder on this thin of metal. If I can I was thinking of getting the same guage steel, cut out a square that would fill that area, make me a new fan hole, cut out the area around it on the case and weld the new piece into place. I plan on grinding down the edge and painting the frame, so Im not worried about how it looks on the raw metal. But, would that heat warp the metal or just completely destroy it? Thats my question.

If you have another suggestion thats also welcome, besides buying a new case that is.

Cut a piece of plexi and glue it there then you could put a hole in the plexi and put a fan grill over that.

Actually, thats not a bad idea. Not quite what I was going for in looks, but it works! Thanks man.
