i've seen computers with display screens on the front, showing cpu processes and case temperature, some even playing videos. what are these called, and what's a good place to find them?

Its in one of my pcmags around here somewhere, all look it up for you..

There's some info in casemods section. You can get a PSOne display for cheap, probably best bet.

will a PS one screen work on regualr computers? hmm... how much do these things usually run at?

is there another lcd color screen i can get that's about 5" w/o it being from the psone? the round circuit board on it kinda screws up what i wanna do.

Look into something made for a car audio application. They generally have small cases on them that could be broken down further, and some even come bare on circuit boards. They will take a composite video input (sometimes s-video) and they will run on a 12 volt source.

oh very nice. hope i can do that with a 5". gonna try doing something like that pull out screen.
