Case Mod.... You Like? :)

we built one of those in highschool electronics class. it was awesome, i think we used mame though and we had the coin slot and everything. it was all run off a 400mhz celeron system. it was alot of fun to build and we learned alot about various electronics pieces / soldering.

that looks really nice, good work

That's sweet!! I would have loved to see a worklog. I was talking about the same mod to a friend of mine at work.

nice job on that arcade-setup

If you're into newer gaming, maybe try a racing-cabinet,
you know, with a racing-seat,steering wheel, pedals,...

Grtz

Where can I get a racing cabinet? I really want to build an arcade system but I'm new. I want something with force feedback and can play newer games like fast and the furious?

well done.. I especially like cupholders ;-) does it have USB ports to plug in controllers? (eg, the nintendo controller can be modded to be USB).. the old square controller is almost a necessity to do serious nostalgic nintendo gaming, or at least I find.

Hey this looks familiar to me... Did you ever post this on a forum called A5OG?

Nope

we actually didnt buy the cabinet either, the TV is an off the shelf TV.

The machine is just a standard Athlon 64 3200+ PC, it has USB ports that you can access from the back.

It's nicer playing nintendo RPGs this way because I use one of the buttons as the turbo button and zip around way faster (makes final fantasy 1 so much better)

I can make one probably, we have quite a few pics of the progress of the build :)

theres a worklog on this forum somewhere of a dude who built an entire HUGE cabinet for his flight sims and driving sims. cost em like 5 Gs i think. he had it all, automatic closing door i think. cupholders, lights inside, nice PC, USB ports, 5.1 sound, you name it, he had it in there. if could remember the name i will find it and post it here.

I'd hit it ;)

Very sexy job, who made the custom signage though?

My brother made the sign graphic and had it printed by someone who had the device to do so with

it says "my shit's custom" if anyone can't read it :)

You guys should almost all know my brother... He's the DUDE who built HEATWARE... goes by mr_sonicblue.

Also, one part you can't see in that picture. The Sony Xplod speakers are being driven by a klipsch promedia 4.1 subwoofer. The control pod for the volume is mounted underneath the button panel board. It's a pretty slick deal
