Case Mod Sponsors?

What's up with the string of case mods with sponsors lately?

I've got a few questions.

1.) Do sponsors give you free stuff for the mod, or just discounts?

2.) Do you get to keep it all when done?

3.) What type of requirements do the sponsors usually put on you? (ie. showing the case at LAN parties, trade shows, etc, etc...)

4.) Do the sponsors usually contact the modder, or the other way around?
 
1. Depends. Usually they hook you up with free stuff in exchange for your effort, advertisement and exposure. You should probably offer to "share the cost" if it's your first sponsorship :).

2. Usually, yes.

3. Generally good forum exposure, with a good portfolio and a willingness to put in some effort for whatever the sponsor requires... Sometimes you might have to show the case at trade shows, yes, but that tends to be for hardware (like, an Intel/nVidia sponsorship) rather than modding gear.

4. Other way around.

5. Also, it's the start of a new year. Sponsorship quotas have yet to be filled. This might explain the sudden surge in sponsorship ;).
