origionally wanted to make a case of legos but then I found out what legos cost. anyone got a cheaper option? other than buying an actual case... hehe
 
If you can't be bothered to fork some $30-$50 on a cheap case (say, Antec 300), many even cheaper, would I be not too far off in assuming that you salvaged your system from a dumpster? You should definitely hook up with my roommate who buys his underwear from Goodwill and wears stuff tossed out by our neighbors (while making a very decent living).

Laying your mobo on cardboard would be cheapest. If that's too much perhaps paper might do it, not too sure about toilet rolls and Bounty.

I'm gonna hafta go with a free fishtank, you can prolly find one on craigslist. best of all: complete submersion cooling is possible. just make sure you find a tank with a lid so das kitten doesn't get all greezy-pawed.
 
lol those are both good ideas. I like the box idea better but he always rips boxes open. Highly doubt Ill be doing complete submergion, and it would be hard to get good airflow in a fishtank

lol raidmax... blah. I was looking for a diy type thing. Maybe I'll just get that $25 case from micro center. Not a bad looking case. I'll go there after school and check it out more extensively and see what the cooling is like. I have to go for now though, need to re-install the backup domain controller in my lab room.... Stupid 'not enough storage error' wont let me use the 'runas' command!

There's a sale on cases under $50 at the Egg right now... in fact it's on the banner ad right now.
