No, no the grills that encase your teeth in shiny jewelry. I mean the checkered metal that case fans are either in front of or behind. When I put my hand behind my computer, I dont feel alot of air being moved out. I was considering cutting out a portion of the metal grill from the back of the computer and front intake fan of the computer that seemingly restricts this airflow. Obviously this would allow more dust into the system, which isnt good, but if I dusted it more often would this be beneficial to keeping my system cool?
 
are the grills honey comb style? or square. square id cut em out, honey comb are very good for airflow and hardly bother it.
 
Square, so I think I might. I'll probably want to get a good dust filter though, any suggestions as far as dust filters that wont impede airflow too much?
 
I was going to cut out the grill for both the intake and exhaust fan. I'll definately put a filter in front of the intake fans then, I was going to put a filter where the exhaust fan was too but now that I think about it it does seem rather unnecessary. Are you saying I should get a replacement grill for the exhaust?
 
all you need is a filter on the intake fan you will get like 0.000001 percent the amount of dust from your back fan as from your front.
 
yeah, cut out all the grills, replace the front ones with filters and the rears with generic grills (so no1 loses a finger!)

but exhaust FILTERS are not needed.
 
Exhaust filters would be pointless.

Unless you want the dust that's in your computer to be in stuck in your computer/exhaust filter.
 
But what if the hampster that powers my computer enjoys eating the exhaust filter dust?
