Case Funnel?

I have this ePower Warrior case and it has this funnel connected to the side panel..it's at the same perspective of the cpu?.. I'm wondering what it's suppose to do for the cpu..

It allows fresh air to get to the cpu from the side of the case.

It may be, depending on the case. You could always take it off and put it back later if temps go up too far.

my thoughts exactly. In theory it should still help, but i dont think it will make much of a difference. Keep in mind what type of fans you have in your case and the ambient temp inside the case as well.

although, I would like to take the side window out of this case cause the case itself just looks goony. And i would like to mod it to a clear acrylic case because it would better suite my cool looking motherboard (even though it's crap) and perhaps drill some holes in the case to add more fans .

I removed the funnel from the side of my case (Dont even remember what case I have) and it actually dropped temp by 1c, it opened the area for better internal airflow. I also did reverse cooling, I have it blowing air from the back to the front, due to my case design thats the only way the hard drive can get cooling, and doing such really helped drop overall temps, I used to load at 52c, now it loads at 44c idles between 33-35c. Just by reversing the fan direction, changing the back fan to a 120mm from an 80 (Had to drill the hole larger for it).
