Ok, so I have purchased almost all the components for my first water cooling set up but now I second guessing my decision to mount the double radiator & fans on the outside of my Xigmatek Asgard Pro case. Having blown my budget on components i do not have a great deal to spend on a new case so i have short listed the following 2 cases.

Lancool First Knight PC-K63 @ £45 - great features but not the best looking. Only supports top mounted 280mm radiators not 240mm.

CM Storm Scout 2 Advanced @ £59 - looks great but features are not as good IMO. Possible support 240mm radiator top mounted.

I am hoping that some of you have had experience of these cases and can help with my questions. I am also open to your thoughts on these cases and any suggestions for alternatives in the same price bracket.

Questions -
1. Does the Scout 2 support a top mounted 240mm radiator and fans (push only)? If so what is the maximum depth of the radiator?

2. What is the maximum depth of 280mm radiator that will fit under the top cover of the K63?

I am hoping to fit an Alphacool NexXxos XT45 in the K63 hence my questions regarding depth. If the XT45 does not fit i will settle for the ST30.

If the Scout 2 is the better case and will accept a top mounted 240mm radiator I will stick with the XSPC RS240 that I have already purchased new for £20.

Thanks in advance

I'm not sure about those cases but I would try stretching a little bit and go for a corsair 750D which is made for water cooling. It's the little sibling of the 900D which I have.

The 750d is stretching the budget too far. I have been offered a Corsair C70 though.

How about the Coolermaster CM690 II? Top 280mm radiator support and bottom 240mm radiator support.

I have a C70 arriving today that I am putting in two thinner 120.2 radiators in. From the builds I have seen it is relatively straightforward to fit two in there.

Arc Midi should work as well, or 750D/450D.

Anyways, good luck with the 450D! That was one of my choices as well but I wanted an extra 5.25" slot and something a little hardier (that and I like the door hinges on the C70).

I picked up my 450D yesterday. Brand new and unused for £50 :)
Don't you just love ebay.
