I have 3 case fans in my computer. Cooler Master 120 mm.
I would like to change them with Noctua,cause i find they are a bit loud.
What would you advice me ? Is that worth ?Are Noctua better (silent ) than Cooler Master ?
I tried to reduce the speed ,with SpeedFan,but the only fan i can see there is the fan from the lateral part of my case.
Would you recommend me to buy a good fan controller,instead case fans Noctua ?
How do i have to connect them if i wanna use only SpeedFan ? With molex? To plug them to the motherboard or to the power supply ?
If i buy a fan controller,and the cables are to short to connect them into the controller,can i prolong them somehow?
Please give me some advices. Thanks.
 
you can solve your sound problems with some pretty simple electrical wiring, but you may lower the air flow too much in getting it quiet enough. in that case yes, you would have to get some nicer noctua fans.

it sounds like you have one of the fans plugged into the mobo, so its adjustable. the rest are probably plugged into molex connectors, which go straight to the power supply and are not adjustable. i suggest you unplug the ones that arent adjustable and then throttle back the one fan until it is at a bearable noise level. at this point, feel behind the fan to see how much air its pushing. if you think that 3 times this is enough, then you can just wire them together. if you think that all 3 throttled back this far wouldnt give you enough air flow, then youre gonna have to go with some noctuas that can push more air at lower noise levels.

if it is enough air, then you can simply wire all 3 fans together and plug them into the one 3 pin on the motherboard so that you can adjust all 3 of them at once. correct me if im wrong someone, but i believe you want to do this in parallel. like this. you can sauter them, or twist them together and electrical tape them, or whatever you prefer. you can also just daisy chain the molex plugs i believe, as they are wired in series. however, they get cumbersome and ugly.

any of these wires can be extended by just splicing some more wire in there and wrapping it in electrical tape. i like to cannibalize wire from fans wires i cut down, or from dead PSUs.
 
noctuas arent the only fans btw, just the best. you may be able to solve your problems with some cheaper yates or something. im not an expert on different fan makers though.

What about the fan controller idea? It's about 24 euro,pretty cheap.
There is 3 speed level,can't turn off the fans but that's not to bad.
I think that's the best way for me,cause when i'm playing and the CPU and GPU are in full load,i just turn on the 3rd speed,and when i just browse the internet or i'm doing "light" applications,i leave it the 1st one ( quieter).
If i buy 2 or 3 Noctua fans,thats about 60-70 euro. The fan controller is 24 euro,and much more handy,i'd say.
But i wanna know your opinions,especially from those once who have a fan controller.

Don't waste your money on the Noctua's, they are nice fans, sure, but over priced and full of marketing hype as well. Get the controller and pick up some Scythe KAMA, S-Flex or Slipstream fans with the money saved, the Scythe fans push allot more air than the CM fans at the same noise level. you can get them in the states for as little as 7.50 for the Slipstream fans to 10+ for the KAMA and S-Flex, but I don't know how much they run where you live, Jab-Tech has international shipping but I don't know how much that would run.
 
i havent used a 3-setting fan controller. they adjust the voltage to 3 different levels, which slows down the fans. i actually wired all 4 of the fans in my case up to the fan controller that came with my sunbeam core contact freezer. the sunbeam connects to thee mobo so i can adjust it in my computer settings. the rest are all controlled together an i can adjust the speed to anywhere between full speed and lowest speed with the controller in the back. i didnt buy any fancy expensive fans, i agree that theyre not worth it. i think yates are pretty good for the money too. i have some high speeds i think. got them cheap.
 
Keep an eye on those fans. Those potentiometer controllers are only rated for so much power draw, and I doubt sunbeam "overbuilt" theirs. Putting more than one fan on it could cause it to burn up unexpectedly.
