I just ordered a bunch of Panaflo fans for my case to replace the noisy ones I have now. I bought them all from Jab-tech and just got them today, but I noticed the wires are like only a foot long. I bought a fan controller called the "Noise Isolator" that's mounted in a 5" bay. How the fuck are the wires supposed to reach that far??

I have to put a 120mm in the rear, and 80mm's on the side panel, the front panel, and the top of the case.

not sure about the language there.

i just used an old power supply and cut some wire and spliced it into my fans to make the wire long enough not only to reach but also to be run under the motherboard tray so its out of the way.

I will try to remember when I get home, but I have the part numbers for the molex connectors you need. I ordered a bunch for myself awhile back. Then you need to order some wire (I have the gauge you need as well, but its all written down at home).

You can then make your own custom length cables, sleeve & then heat shrink them. ;)

jeez. i don't want to do any wire splicing...i don't even know how to do it lol.

i just want wires that will reach, and i don't need molex, the fan controller takes the small 3pin connector

Try to search for the fan wire extensions. I got a bunch when I bought a L.I.S.2 Blue Eye LCD screen with a fan controller.

found some wire extensions on jab-tech.

Does anyone know what size sleeving and heatshrink tubing you use for case fan wires?

I'd like to sleeve them myself since it's much cheaper than having them do it for me.

Also, when you do the sleeving how do you take off the connecters at the end? Just pull it off, sleeve it and put the connector back on is it that simple?

Thanks

wire splicing is easy dude....it took me about 10 minutes to do 4 fans...just cut the wires, strip it, and twist the matching colors together...wallah! total cost? $1.00, dont be scared, you don't get anywhere if you don't take risks...

fine. what size sleeving/heatshrink do i need.

also what gauge wire would i need, where do i get the wires. anything else i need? What about the 3pin connectors - how do i remove them and then put them back on when i do sleeving?

i adore when people spell it ("voila!") that way. but yeah, splicing and sleeving is a snap.
