I apologize if this is in the incorrect area. I'd considered case modding, but it seemed pretty general in nature. Mods, please feel free to move or remove this thread if it's in the incorrect area.

This is a pretty stupid question, I'm sure, but one that's left me sort of perplexed.

In every pre-made tower-based computer I've owned there's been a set of fans that attach to the front grill area of the case. The image above shows where these fans would be situated. Do these fans have a specific name?

Ah, intake fans. I've always just referred to them as being 'case fans,' not unlike the rear exhaust and the like.

Thanks for the quick reply.

they are normally just intake fans. Just put any old 80mm, 92mm, 120mm, w/e you can mount there, and put it in so the airflow is in. If you accedently reverse it, and all the fans are exhaust, you'll end up with screwed up airflow, but an amazingly dust free case :D.

There is no difference between the intake and exhaust fans, you use the same fans for both purposes, its just how you mount them

I always name that fan Bob. The blowhole fan is named Willy and the back fan is named Walter. I don't know if this helps you though.
