I just installed a new 80mm fan in my case and could not get the screws to go all the way in. Any tips? Did I ruin the fan?

If it is metal on plastic then force the metal screws to bite into the plastic of you are sure that you are not going to break anything and that you will not be removing the fan any time soon.

And if its a metal screw on an aluminum fan, have fun...I hated putting the screws into my aluminum fans...

Instead of trying to thread the screws into the fan... use machine screws. Just slide them through, and put a nut on the end.
