I'm buying a Mountain Mods UFO-Duality and I'm trying to sleeve and heat shrink the power cables on the fans for two Thermochill PA120.3s. I want to have one fan plug for each thermochill.

My problem is I don't know which wires to splice and connect. Basically I want to connect three fans together into one power line.

Help please! Thanks.

Maybe i'm missing something... don't you just connect all 3 reds together, all three yellows together and all three blacks together and connect those to the corresponding colours on a molex?

I prefer to do it myself. Its fun, but whatever is easier and if the wallet is deep enough go for it.

That's, my question... how do you do it yourself? Online tutorial? I searched but my google skills must be lacking.
It's not that hard... maybe a course in basic/elementary electrical wiring would help better? :p

If you are going to use the rpm sensor wire (yellow) for something then only use 1 and cap off the other 2, and yes you can just hook the 3 reds and 3 blacks together, just not the yellows.

:)

will it hurt the motherboard if I plug the three fans into one of the mobo headers?

Cut the ends off ALL your fans (but leave the yellow wire attached to one of them). Remove the yellow wires from all your fans, except the one you left attached to the connector.

Solder all the red wires together. Solder all the black wires together. Solder that to a molex and heatshrink it all.

Connect the yellow wire (if you want RPM sensing) to a regular fan header. You can extend this wire easily.

You're drawing power from a MOLEX, and sensing RPM's through the mobo header.

DO NOT connect more than 2 fans to a motherboard header if you're drawing power from it.
