Case door fan worth it?

I have a Chieftec Dragon-series full-tower case, but either through [bad] luck of the draw or a misinterpreted order or something mine came without a fan slot on the clear door. My dad has the tools available and is willing to help me cut a hole in the door for a fan. My question is - is it worth it? Will it make a noticable difference in temperatures (mine of which have been skyrocketing lately; I can't play any games until I get a hold of a Zalman 7700C, pretty much)?

If it's worth putting in, where should I cut the hole? Should it be mounted over a specific part of the motherboard, or does it not really matter? And finally, how should I secure the fan to the door given that I don't have a fan mount lying around?

Thanks in advance for any and all help.

"I" definately think it's a good decision to put one on the side door. As far as placement I always favor putting it over the cpu/HSF. Also for mounting, just use the metal wire fan (that should have come with the fan) cover to secure it or get an after market one from any mod shop.

Overall is it worth it? Hell yeah in my opinion. Introducing cold air in the path of the HSF, hacking into your case (my favorite) as well as asthetics, there's no reason for waiting any longer. While your at it, if there's not one at the top...put a nice 92/120mm one there. THAT made a very generous difference in my temps, although I have an mid-tower (dont know if this makes a difference)

Trust me, after your done, you'll kick back and look at it and be like "y-e-a-h" !

you got my vote ;) wat i did at first was cut out a cardboard side of the same size as the case size panel and cut a fan hole of whereever designated and test.....and for me, the temps hav dropped alot ;) so if ur not sure where to place the fans, do wat i did
