Case Cutting Tool Nibbler

I've got one. It's certainly no replacement for a dremel...if you can't (or just don't want to) drop the money on a dremel, you can do basic stuff with one of those... they're good enough(tm) for square holes...but lord help you if you want to make a round hole.

That being said, I would still recommend people have one in their tool box. Good for backup, and they are also great for punching out honeycomb fan grills on stock cases.
 
go buy one from harbor freight. its a handy tool to have. but don't spend money on shipping, just go to a local hardware store and get one.

yeah, just about ANY local hardware store will have them.. lowes, harbor freight. home depot, ace... even most mom and pop places.
 
Used one on my first window mod. Make that windows, plural. All cut with a nibbler like that one. Takes a while, and you want to make sure you've been eating your Wheaties, since it takes quite a bit of force to cut steel panels (like I had......aluminum was still way out of my league at that time!).

I cut two small window/blow holes (had a 4" square sample etched window I wanted to use, so cut a 3" rounded hole for it, plus cut a hole for an 80mm fan), plus one large 8" x 10" window hole, with rounded corners. That's really where the nibbler came in handy, since you could really cut at any radius you wanted to with it. The final product looked really nice, imho. :D

I did, however, have a serious case of Popeye forearm condition for about 2-3 weeks after finishing, though!! :eek:
 
I used one on my old antec case, perfect to take the grills out, but it was TERRIBLE using for anything bigger than that. Plus sometimes it would bend the metal around it. Good backup mostly for smaller work.
 
I LOVE nibblers! I've been using them for years and can achieve perfection with them. I have used them with both aluminum and steel.

Most recently, I used my nibbler for dual round 120mm blow holes on my Lian Li PC-A05B.
 
Wow. I bought that thing nearly a decade ago! Still brand new and I haven't even used it at all.
