I have a new case with a place for 4 80mm fans. Two in the front and two in the back. I want the case quite and not sounding like a plane taking off. I was thinking of leaving the front two open and letting the two in the back and the PSU fans draw the air in then blow it out the back. Does this sound ok? What do you guy think. I am a new to the forum so take it easy on me. Just kidding. Thank, jmb
 
just do what tjf_diesel had said, the rear fans only idea is ok but it wont be that great for cooling. just wondering, were you talking about having the rear fans be intakes or exhausts?
 
all fans {side and back} that are near your PSU should be exsaust fans....anything else can be intake fans

example:

front two fans draw air in under the hard drives.
rear fans draw cool air up to PSU while drawing warm air from around the PSU out of the case instead of circulating the HOT air into and around the case. defeating the purpose of the fans themselves.
 
The back fans would be exhausts. I think then to put some high cfm fans in the front two and a lower cfm fan in the back two. That way I can feed air to the back fans and the PSU fan. jmb
