I am building a new rig soonish and I need some advice. I have my heart set on a Antec P180b case. I don't know the motherboard yet as I am waiting for more of the Conroe boards to come out but will probably go with a RD600 or Nforce 590 chipset. I will be running two harddrives a WD 150gb Raptor and a Seagate 7900.10 500gb drive. One optical drive probably as sata drives for optical are fairly expensive right now. I will probably just be getting one midrange graphics card for now till G80 and R600 cards come out and will probably go sli or crossfire depending on which motherobard chipset I end up with.
Now I want to future proof a bit (if there is such a thing) by getting a fairly beefy powersupply. The two brands I have heard the most about is PC&C powersupplies and FotronGroup powersupplies. I have heard PC&C powersupplies are a little long though and I am not sure I can fit it in the P180 without having to take out the lower chamber fan which I don't really want to do. So I am looking for advice on a powersupply that will fit the case without me really having to take anything out and will have long enough leads to reach everything as well. I am probalby looking for something in the 600watt range or more if I ever go quad or whatever just for fun. I don't really have a budget on this as it is one of the most important parts of the system. All suggestions are welcome. Oh and I plan on overclocking as well.
