Hey everyone,

One quick and simple question.

Would you guys pick CM Elite 343 or Silverstone PS08? For airflow and durability and cheap as well.

Thanks :)

Let's see....

The Silverstone PS08 has front USB 3.0 ports, comes with two fans (front 120mm/rear 92mm, versus the Elite 343's front 120mm), a removable front fan filter, and a rear motherboard cutout area (for the installation of CPU cooler mounts without the removal of the motherboard. There's also space in the bottom of the case to install an SSD.

The CM Elite 343 has a removable HDD tray (I don't like the way the PS08 handles long video cards), the ability to add a third (side 92mm) fan, and a (IMO) much simpler look to it (which I personally prefer).

Well, the USB 3.0 front ports, the two case fans, and the (hidden) SSD mount makes the PS08 (IMO) better than the Elite 343. I also found the PS08 to be cheaper in many retailers.

Hi Tiraides,

Thank you for a quick reply. I'll take it that you would prefer the Elite 343. Yes, I have also found the PS08 cheaper than the Elite 343 here in NZ. Are you certain that the PS08 comes with both the 120 and 92mm fans? I thought it only comes with the 120mm. Also which one would have better cable management?

Thanks again :)

I like the look of the Elite 343, but I'm more of a Silverstone guy.

I was wrong earlier: both cases have rear motherboard cutout areas. The true differences between the PS08 and the Elite 343 come down to having front USB 3.0 ports (edge to the PS08) and case design (IMO edge to Elite 343).

Cable management is a wash as both cases don't have enough room for any intricate cable routing. You basically tuck all of your spare cables into the open space beside the HDD cage.

Personally, I say they're both good, especially for their price ($40, which puts them in line with many "generic" micro ATX cases). You wouldn't go wrong with either one (but you'd have to spend a bit more on the Elite 343 -- to buy a 92mm fan or two and add a USB 3.0 hub for front-mounted devices -- to bring it to the features level of the PS08).
