case burned the mobo???

hey whas up
today i jwent out and got a brand new case for my system.
i took out the mobo and the all the wires and installed it on the new case. everything plugged in and shit. but now i turn on my computer no shit on the screen. the screen is on idle mode. i took ot my vidcard and tried the system with the onborad videocard
and same shit
i took out ram and put each ram moudle at once and same shit
no fucking post or beeps
wtf is wrong? is my mobo dead???? wtf can be wrong??? the mobo doesnt have any digonosties lights or anything for me to determind if it is dead,. wtf can be wrong
i am really pissed i have to do something really important on this computer. what can be wrong
should i go out and buy a new mobo??
 
take the mobo out of the case, and try it, you may just be shorting out something or grounding something that shouldnt be.

be sure you have power on, be sure that the reset or power switch isnt jamed in/on, be sure your jumping the right pins for the power.

does anything spin up, or is there just no power at all?

because i put those little yellow things on the case on the mobo. so i know its not shortting
 
take the mobo out of the case and check it, and try it outside the case. there could be a short anyway, maybe a screw or something got stuck, just check it.

check every plug, clear cmos try another psu.
 
i read his post, and i was just saying that to make sure he at least checked, because a few things can go wrong behind the mobo other than the standoffs. his problem really does sound like some short inside the case, as it was working in the other. xdviper, take out all of the components and run them with the motherboard resting on a piece of cardboard, just to eliminate the possibility.
 
Why don't you try to remove the CMOS battery for a couple of mins. A faulty predefined CMOS setting might be the prob.
 
What kind of mother board is it? It does sound like something's shorted, or possibly not in correctly. You have a memory stick or PCI card not in all the way? Some cases are ghey like that and make your cards sit stupidly (a problem that goes away when you do it outside the case, incidentally....)
 
sorry my good friend xavierq informed me that my sarchasme doesnt show up in that post, my comment was not meant to demean the well intended "Thermite Paste" who as i can tell seems like a nice chap, but rather to deride xdviper.

There is nothing as fufilling as when you try to help some one, and they say, "I knew that, and thats not it, thanks for nothing" when clearly it could still be a problem. Also it takes a big man to post here, and then not folow up on anything, like the other advice given, or just a little, "Thank you for taking the time to read this, i know that some of you have jobs and segnificant others, and no one gets paid to read this and help me with my troubles so any ideas to help me are greatly appriciated"

stand offs meen shit, something elce in your case could be the issue, if it works out of your case then you know its the case and can move on, if it doesnt then you know you have another problem, its caled trouble shooting, you try one thing, then another till you find the problem, check your ram, run memtest, move the ram around, check your cpu, make sure its in right and the HSF is on, and you used a thermal compound, get a multimeter and check the power from your psu, make sure your not sitting under a big magnet, try difrent mobo screws, take out ever add on card, try them in difrent pci slots,
