So I've finally decided on going for an SFF system. However, not for the regular reasons.

I'll be moving to England in a few months and will need to bring my base rig with me, and IN my luggage to save moving costs. The luggage I will be using is an old Easton hockey bag, and the largest travelers luggage that Air Canada offers. Not sure on exxact dimensions, but I will get pics up.

Now my problem is tryin to decide what case to get to fit into my luggage while leaving room for everything else I own.

I'm thinking either a microfly

this:
Inland mATX Case

or this little beast:
Coller Master Centurion mATX case

Any advice would be appreciated.

Also, I'll be dropping in an EVGA mATX SLi mobo, and a 7900GS to start. Is it possible to fit an Arctic Cooling Freezer 64 Pro in the microfly with some modding?

I'm also very open to alternative suggestions. Just one of my requirements is that I keep my current PSU, Powerstream 600W.
 
Get a full ATX board and buy the case in England - better solution. ;)

Of those two the Centurion is a better case.
 
That was one of my other thoughts.

I'm also selling my 19" Sony CRT soon and replacing it with a 19" widescreen lcd. Anyone think it'd be a completely horrible idea to pop that in my luggage as well?
 
I'm not sure if airlines "insure" cargo....shipping an LCD screen via airline is VERY risky, especially knowing how we've all seen how baggage is thrown around, falls off the truck, etc. Spend the cash and ship it by courier (FedEx, UPS, Purolator), pack it well, and cushioned, and get the package insured.
 
the problem with that is that shipping costs as much as the device as soon as I go the fedex or ups route. Unless theres some cheaper way to ship that anyone knows of? cause if there is, I'll just ship the whole rig out in 2 small boxes.

Also, I'm an avid woodworker, and was thinking about building a [H]ard SFF rig out of some really nice 150+ year old oak I have sitting round, if anyone is interested in having it done. Since I dont have the means to do another whole rig. I can supplky the wood and the rest of the sonstruction materials free, for whoever wants it done.
 
Play it safe and just buy the LCD over in Europe....it wont cost that much more due to currency exchange. Hell, you might find one even cheaper.
 
if you don't mind having the power plug in the front and the PCI slots facing the top, you can take my case design and shorten it to mATX specs :p

I've actually seen this case online, and I LOVE it, would probably be perfect for me, except for one thing... I cannot find anywhere to order it online in canada. Newegg only ships the the USA. Bleh. However I did manage to find a UK vendor that sell it, so I may purchase it over there.

Still trying to decide exactly waht to do. I'm starting to like the idea of boxing up all my parts for the trip though.
