Case advice - "high end" - dual 6970 etc

My case is a MESS. The 900 simply can't cut it for what I have, I have harddrives half mounted to make room for the video cards, the space to run wires is HORRENDOUS, etc.. I love my 900's but I've just out grown them.

I have 2 6970's, Noctua NH-D14. 5 3.5" HDD"s and 1 SDD.

I want a case that is nice for wiring, easy for HDD install/removal, and can fit 2 6970's without the need for sacrificing any HDD bays etc..

I am heavily considering the new Cooler Master CM Storm Trooper. Functionally it appears to have everything I want. It is not exactly what I like aesthetically but I can live with it. I would like to spend under $250 ideally. I have no interest in water cooling so I don't need space for radiators or anything like that.

I also forgot to mention, quiet would be a nice change. The 900 with even Scythe's is annoyingly loud. Granted when I am gaming the 6970s well overpower that noise but I was partially looking at the Fractal due to the noise suppression. Unfortunately the Define XL USB3 doesn't appear to actually be available yet.

Any advice (followed with reason, other than you own it and like it) is greatly appreciated.

Ft 02, Or 650D are great cases. Nuff said

I've looked at both. They both seem like GOOD cases, but I saw nothing about either that stood out as great to me. Care to explain what either would do for me that a HAF or twelve hundred or any other modern full size case does not offer for a non water cooling gamer.

Not saying they don't, I'm really asking :). Trying to get the best educated opinion. most importantly, what about either of those would be BETTER than the Trooper?

Well looks are subjective so if you like the looks of any of the cases mentioned take it, But The HAF and the 1200 are hideous. But all cool very well.

Within your budget rv-02 , ft-02 are probably going to be your best bet.

Although they do not have the absolute best performance, they tend to win out when it comes to noise/performance, in particular in how effective they are at dealing with noisy gpus.

You'll also have the ability to use your 5 hdds, and your ssd without a problem.

So it would be a worthwhile investigation.

The Corsair Obsidian 800D for water cooling and the Coolermaster HAF X if you want to air cool. I've got both of these and I'm very pleased with both.

It LOOKS to me like the Trooper is an even better HAF X, any reason you can think of to go with the HAF X over the Trooper?

I don't like the looks of any of the cases I have looked at except the Fractal :-/

Many of them are "OK", but non I find gorgeous. I really don't like windows, I don't like lights, and I don't care for mesh. That makes it tough when trying to find a nice cooling case designed for large GPU's :D

Looks are at the bottom of my priority though, my case sits in my desk cubby so I rarely look at it front aside.

Which of those 2 is "better"? I see many sites that do agree the FT-02 has a great cooling/noise ratio (especially for its price).

Is there a case you would recommend ABOVE my budget, for aircooling?

The CM Storm Trooper is uglier and while it has support for XL-ATX, it doesn't look like it would support E-ATX very well if at all. Not a concern for most, but it is for me since having dual CPU socket motherboards isn't unheard of for me.

Yeah neither of those apply to me. I find both of them not all that attractive and I will never use E-ATX or very unlikely even XL-ATX.

Why not Fractal R3?

Well for starters same problem as Fractal XL, I can't find it anywhere for sale in the US?

Looking at other's opinions it seems most people do like the R3 over the XL, I was just worried about space, it's hard to tell from pictures :).

Can you at least toss in some reasoning :)?

That case seems like extreme overkill for my setup.

I will have this case tomorrow.

What I like about it, is that its completely customizable, Has 2 sections, MB side and PSU side and you can either have solid side, vented side or standard or xl window on both sides.

Newegg has them in stock about once every two months. They should be getting a shipment in within a week or two of R3's and XL's

if i was buying a new case right now

i would consider this one to be the front runner for myself

Lian Li (Lancool PC-K9WX) I like the design, I like that the interior is painted black, it seem to have 'decent' cable management options, I also like the lian li tooless PCI retention system.

all in all it looks to me to be an attractive case with nice features.
