Right now im using a 512 stick of Samsung pc3200, in the bios it is set up as auto for cas latency.

Im using an Athlon 64 3200, msi neo-fsr mobo, and a Radeon 9800 pro 128mb.

Is it safe to set the cas latency to 2 in the bios? Wont it perform a lot better?
Noticably better?

Thanks

It won't post. Period.

Sammy RAM, while very OC'able, does not agree with CAS 2 or 2.5. I don't expect you to do much better than 3-3-3-8 with it. If you want CAS2 stuff, its time to buy RAM.

I've gone 2.5 with it , in my son's machine, with no problem. But your right about getting different ram if you want to go to 2.

Any recomendation on what to get? Newegg links are preferred :).

Crucial, Corsair, Geil.. ive heard they were good..

Corsair XMS 3200C2, or 3200LL, or 3500C2 are all Cas2

Mushkin Level I or Level II are also Cas2

Kingston HyperX is CAS 2 for 3200 and 3500

I wouldn't trust any others.
