Carry a computer on a plane?

Just wondering whether it's possible to carry a PC on the return journey from the US to the UK. Not your average full-size tower of course... most like a SFF like a shuttle...

I doubt you'll be able to carry it on, but if you pack it well you could put it with your luggage. With today's laws though, I would recommend asking the airline you intend to fly before you purchase your ticket. You may want to just consider having it shipped. Maybe send it the day before you leave.

It would probably be safer to ship it via overnight or two day. That way you're insured. I doubt the cost would be too bad for a SFF case. :)

My buddy takes a midtower with him every time he flies, as one of his carry-ons. He brings old systems back to the Philippines for his cousins and other relatives/friends. I'm not sure which airline he uses, but I agree with whoever said to double check with your airline.

You can bring it on as carry on or as checked luggage. You will find that most if not all airlines will warn you that they will not be responsible for any high priced items or electronics or camera equiptment that is in checked bags. (Some) high priced items can be insured (addition charge) but the other items listed are not insurable.

I don't see why it would be a problem to take it as a carry-on. Just carry it nekkid, or put it in a bag with some clothes as padding.
