I need a video card that will display 5 total outputs @ 1080p.

The kicker is all the cables are pre-existing already, ran through the walls and ceiling. They are VGA cables. Splitters are not a problem...

Cost is an issue too, as management of course is wanting to spend as little as possible. The good news there is I don't need crazy horsepower as this is just used for monitoring in an IT enviornment.

I could look at replacing the VGA cables too, if the splitter costs are too rediculous.

I believe any AMD R9 series GPU can fit the bill? If so, just looking to confirm that with the community so we don't end up with something that doesn't work...

VGA?

management is a bit behind the times, most new decent new cards dont even have any kind of analog output anymore.

Sapphire had a FLEX model with 6 DP outputs, i dont know if they still make it.

Well DVI can be split to VGA. I'm not even sure if you can do adapters to go from Mini-DP to DVI to VGA?

Cables could be replaced, but they are long runs and probably going to cost a lot.

Are we talking 5 discrete outputs or 5 cloned displays?

Best option with one card and 5 discrete outputs is probably going to be to pick up a Radeon 7000-series card with 6x mini-DP ports, then get 5 active mini-DP to VGA adapters.

I'm not even sure if you can do adapters to go from Mini-DP to DVI to VGA?

Why would you do that? Just go mini-DP to VGA.

This is exactly what I'm looking for. I didn't know you could go from mini-DP to VGA. Thank you.

only if its DVI-I, DVD-D has no analog signal.

AFAIK, there are very few cards still using DVI-I

And there are NO cards that im aware of that have 5 legacy (vga/DVI-I) DACs. 2 at the most, wich means you would need 3 cards for 5 ports.

Check out Matrox. They specialise in multiple monitors. Not uber with the 3d stuff - does extreamly well with 2d.
