Ok, guys, I currently have a x850xt pci-e card. I would like to know if jumping to the 7800 series is worth it. Will I notice a difference in performance? If so, would you go with the 7800gt or gtx? There is a big price difference in the two cards. Your opinons will helpout!
 
Personally, I would wait another generation before I upgraded. I don't know exact numbers, but I doubt you would gain enough performance for it to be noticable in gameplay enough to be worth it. I don't know what your current setup is, but if you are dying to spend some money,... go dual core and more ram is always better ;)

What? You have an SLI board and aren't even using half of it? Tsk, tsk! :p


If you have the money to burn, I'd get a 7800GTX at least so you can utilize SLI in the future by adding a second at some point.

Going dual core over what you have now won't offer any kind of advantage right now until multithreaded games start appearing in quantity.
 
You know he doesnt have to use SLI to get the benfits from that mobo. Mostly you would get that mobo for OCing reasons. Also I would wait for the R520. The X850XT is more than fast enough for most games today.

OP: Good advice from Rayne.... Wait for R520 and see how it compares to your X850XT. If the benefits are worth the price, then go for it. If not, then my previous post still stands as sound advice. ;)
