Card configuration bad idea?

Would a 780 Ti and two 7950's all next to each other (no spaces) overheat in my Cosair 650D? I'd be using the 7950's to mine, and the 780 Ti for gaming and mining when not gaming. The 650D has a side 200mm fan, and the middle HDD cage removed, but is otherwise stock.

P.S. The two 7950's are open air. I haven't bought the 780 Ti yet so could go open or blower depending.

I'd say they will suffocate.

Mining pushes cards at 100% and generates some heat! A side fan may not be enough to get cooler air in the few millimeters between cards blowing hot air everywhere.

You're probably right. If it makes the difference this board would allow a space between the 780 and first 7950, but then I'd also have to buy a new CPU as well.

I might as well build a 2nd rig for the 7950's. I have most of the parts sitting around collecting dust.

Depends on the cards factory installed coolers. If you intend to build a second rig for the mining operations anyway, then you could easily just monitor the temps. If it doesn't workout then finish building the second rig.

I have never had good luck close stacking cards

I have, but only with the blower type that exhaust the heat out the back and with fans blowing cool air on top of them.

I would imagine the more open coolers would do a better job of keeping it overall cool as long as you can keep the heat out of the case.

If they are all blower style coolers and you can feed them enough cool air i don't see why it wouldn't work.

if the 780ti is a blower style shouldn't be an issue.

It's a complete waste of time and money to mine on it though, so I would just build a dedicated mining rig.
