Ok so I'm working on this project...and I finished one part of it...so I thought I'd let you guys check it out and let me know what you think...it's still in its infancy (I still have lots of cards to add and it doesn't show disabled pipelines yet), but you can get some pretty good info out of the database with it...

Let me know what you think...

Just for grins I compared my now 6800nu to my old 9800 Pro and found a problem. The 6800 AGP info is incorrect.

Wow, thats pretty nice. It would be more useful if it had some rough benchmarking info. Maybe an average pulled out of the ORB at futuremark, or pulled from one of the reviews listed.

Useful all the same though.

lovely, I was just about to search the web on the Vanta's specifications, thanks!

Fun to compare my current 9700 to the Voodoo Banshee I got way back when that I thought was god

nice very nice indeed. i especially like how you have links to reviews at the bottom, although i would make it so it opens the review in a new window.

One thing, for the 6800nu AGP you have the memory bus width as 64x2, its a 256 bit card, so would it be 64x4? Also, pipelines on that card are totally wrong

Overall really nice, though I see a few errors.

Hey guys, thanks for all the replies...

I JUST got this in a workable form, so there are bound to be errors...so please let me know so I can fix them...

This is going to be a MAJOR project...like I fully intend to spend the entire summer building this site up...yes I will be adding basic benchmarks...yes I will be adding more reviews and there will be a better way to display them...

I'm also planning on fully integrating the site with the forums and I'm custom building a commenting/rating system...I want to make it really super interactive because I think there are a lot of good opinions out there and it would be nice organize those opinions in a way that's easy for the common man to find and understand...

Or at least that's the idea...wish me luck...and PLEASE let me know if you find more errors...

BTW...I haven't fixed it so cards with disabled pipelines show properly yet...right now is shows the number of pipes on the chip...not the number in use...I should have that fixed later tonight...

Nice setup, but i also encountered the 6800 AGP errors...

Good layout, even better idea, just double check your information and you're good, maybe it'll end up bookmarked :)

Everything has been quadruple checked...that's not the problem...the problem is I don't have a method for the card to override the number of pipelines that are in the chip...that's why the 6800NU is showing up wrong...because it uses an NV40 chip (or at least the initial runs did) and that chip has 16 pipes even if the card is only using 12...

Also remember...every card I can find, released and unreleased, all the way back to the Voodoo1 is in this database...it's a shit ton of information...so it's practically impossible to not have a couple errors here and there...right now there are over 280 cards in the database with more on the way...

I had hoped to fix this problem this evening...but my internet connection went out so I am on my work computer checking email for the evening...

Check back in a couple days and it will be fixed...I'm a really anal retentive kinda guy...I can't stand these errors...or the fact that, thanks to my cable company, I'm unable to fix them at the moment...:(

Thats pretty awesome, but didnt the 9800 Pro have 4 Vertex Shaders?

I shouldn't have vertex shaders up yet...I haven't that in for a lot of cards yet...sorry bout that...

Any idea how to get info from 3dmark? I can't seem to get any info out of them...I dunno if it's because I"m not registered or what...but I definitely want to have at least 3dmark03, 3dmark05 and Aquamark on this page...

Why thank you Rick.
No problem, Michael. Are you trying to advertise your new website? Seems alittle too nvnews.net'sh for me.

sorry to nitpick, but adding intergrate and pci graphics solutions would be an awesome addition, sorta.

Nicely done. Grabbed two cards and compaired features within seconds.

well i say if you going to have the old banshees and GF but you dont have the awesome 9500p/np on there

loved that card when i had it ( damn you vantec iceburg!!!! ( can you say gay shim?) )

i think the 3d mark average score idea would be a good addition

very useful website, good job.
avg scores of different benchmarks is definately a good idea. also, avg overclocks would be useful too.

Very nice and efficient tool! I especially liked the reviews linked on the bottom. I'd get a link to HardOCP there somewhere for sure :p And your also on my shit list for making CTRL-D another page I need to visit on a daily basis, ASS! ;)

haha...well first off...I'll be leaving my bias at the door...that doesn't help make a good website...second off...I have far better means to advertise it than posting on hardforum...I just thought you guys might find it useful, and since this is just about the only forum I really talk on...I thought I'd give you guys first crack at it...

As I said, nice job. When do you expect the entire website to be finished?

Fantastic stuff, had spent an eternity searching the web for exactly what you have created. Can now fully realise my smugness when I compare to my old fx5200.

Just for being such a great idea and very useful tool I have already bookmarked.

Keep up the good work, I can see this becoming a site often "cited" in the Nvidia/ATI slanging wars ;) as if people on this site would be that retarded. :p

well I have big plans for this thing...I'll be working on it all summer...and there's still a shit ton of backend stuff to do...website design and programming is kinda my deal so I'm taking the opportunity to design a content management system from the ground up since I don't really like anything currently on the market...

the big idea is to have videocard info be part of the forum/site registration so people can comment about what card they have, how they like it, whether the fan is noisy, whether it's unstable...how high it overclocks, what 3dmark scores they get etc etc etc...and that info will be part of their "sig" in the forums by default...so people active in the forum will automatically be contributing information to the database...

like I said...big plans...the major parts should be done in a month...and I'll be adding stuff long after that...
