So to make a long story short i knocked off one of the caps on my 7800GT while moving some parts. Is it safe to use JB-Quick weld to put it back on?

Circled the one that fell off

I didn't have a solder gun that was small enough to get on there without frying everything else around it, so i decided to use conductive paint and then a dab of jb to hold it in place. I used to the paint to unlock to the multipliers in the old Athlon XP chips so i figured it would work.

This is what you need for vid cards. I've used it on many occassions. Works great if applied correctly.

Not going to work. At least, not likely to. I've seen 7800/7900s work with blown VRMs (somehow) so who knows.

I agree with majordomo. JB Welds is not electrically conductive. The silver epoxy will work better. Better yet, take it to a local electronics store. They will most likely solder it for free.

Tested the card today and it works perfectly, although it might of worked without it im not sure. To reiterate, i only used the JB Weld as a bond because i had no epoxy, i used conductive paint to reconnect the leads to the board. It's the paint they sell for rear defogger repair kits, it works amazing on motherboard and CPU's so i figured it would work in this case.
