Howdy folks,

I'm new to both Vista and 64-bit and am having a problem. My computer was previously an XP 32-bit machine and my hard drive has 2 partitions...1 for system and programs and 1 for multimedia.

I formatted the primary partition and installed Vista Ultimate 64-bit. Everything installed smooth like butta, but now I found I can't modify anything on the secondary partition. I tried taking ownership of it, but it won't let me because all of the files are read-only. And it won't let me remove the read-only because I don't have ownership.

So please, O Gurus of Vista, help me figure out this wacky mess!

Well, I think I got it. I had to disable UAC. That let me change ownership over to Administrators without blocking me due to things being read-only. Then I was able to assign security to the drive to match my system drive. So now I should be able to re-enable UAC and have everything back to relative normalcy.
