I have a barton that just won't stay stable in 3d at 2200mhz....

I am kinda nervous about pushing too much voltage at it under air cooling, so i was wondering what people consider "safe".

It runs beautifully at 2000, but I really would like that 2200... it's RIGHT THERE, you know? :)

thanks guys!

i hate questions that seem obvious, don't you?

sorry about the bump. :/ still would love an answer.

You can push the vcore very high if you like. IMO I'd say a safe vcore would be around 1.8v. Just keep an eye on your temps if you do end up raising the vcore. If your temps are fine , then you should be in the clear.

What temperature are you running at? Idle and load.
On stock cooling, my 2500+@2.2GHz does 37C and 45C respectively at default voltage core. Also, do you know if your ram can handle the speed?

I feel safe up to about 2.1-2.2v. Then again, I'm running a water cooled box. My temps are <45°C.....

the ram's not the limiting factor - i am running at 10x200 stable - 11x200 is the issue. :)

temps -
around 1.75 -
38c idle 48c load or thereabouts. my room's pretty warm tho...

i run em as high as the board can take em. why just let all that extra voltage sit there? they wouldntve made it possible if it was going to fry the chip :)

k thanks a lot! i think i am gonna try up to 1.90 - if that's not rock stable then i'll live, but sadly. :)
