when i try to renew my ip it says: An error occurred while renewing interface Local Area Connection : unable to contact your DHCP server. Request has timed out. 
I am not connected to a router at the moment. Straight to the modem. I started messing around with routers (DI-624 + DI-524) when i noticed i could not connect to another site that i frequent. i switched routers with one that im borrowing from a friend (DI-524). with his i can see the site, but with mine i can't and while im plugged directly into the modem i can't as well.
help?
