I got a cheiftec full tower case and a IC7-Max 3 motherboard... I cant seem to get the I/O shield out to install the IC7 I/O shield... I think thats whats its called... the piece of plate for the mouse, keyboard , USb, etc..... how do u remove the case I/O shield out? I tried yankin at it and such? Is it suppose to be removed???? arg help!
 
I use a screw driver to not-so-gently tap it out. It pops out twords the inside of the case, so you should be pushing on the I/O cover from the rear of the case. You should be tapping it in the direction of the front of the case, if that makes sense.
 
arg, doesnt sound that simple like you said so. it has little balls on the other sides which is difficult to tab in!!! :mad:

even when pounding it, it still wont budge! :mad:
 
whew... about time I got it out, I found out that u applied pressure to those balls on the outside walls and it pop in ! im soo relief!:) BACK TO BUILDIN MY COMPUTER! (specs below)

Im onto to another problem, cant remove the freaking plastic that keep the processor bracket in place~!!!!!!!! :mad:

i tried pushin it in from behind with a screw driver but fear that i might snap the motherboard in half.... then tried yankin it out, no luck.... :mad:

got any method i should try?
 
Processor bracket? You mean the handle or something? Pull outwards then pull up if that is what ur talking about. lol
 
I hope you're talking about ZIF lever, cause yeah, just pull it up until it locks into a 90 degree angle and the processor juts out.

Unless we're talking heatsink fans here.
 
I need to remove like the Processor brackets because I'll be installing a SP 94 Heatsink and it requires to remove the brackets. Im talkin about those 4 plastic pins like on each corner
 
its not so simple as you put it.... I like cram all my force to it and it wont even budge..... :(

Im gonna try to find someone else that is stronger then me ;)
 
Don't force it. Looking at the motherboard, on the side that the heat sink mounts to (the front), there should be 4 plastic little things in each corner. Get a pair of needle nose pliars and pull each one of those out. Then turn it over, and use the needle nose pliars to push the little "tabs" on the little posts together, it should then slip through and come off.
