Can't play CS with X800XT on Steam

Ever since I installed my new vid-card, my monitor crashes at the title screen on CS. I tried it on Half-life and experience the same problems. My screen goes black and I get this freq not available or some bullshit like that, in a little blue box on the monitor.I can hear the Cs music theme going on in the backround, but I can't get to the title screen without a video crash.Is anyone else experiencing these problems?

But seriously, that frequency out of range thing means the game is picking a refresh rate or resolution that is beyond what your monitor can handle.
 
I used to get that error when I brought my Q3 settings from my laptop to my desktop...
My laptop was set at 16x12 and my desktop LCD's max is only 12x10.
