After switching to Windows 7, I can't choose native resolution for my display (1920x1200). The higher I can get is 1600x1200. I can't set custom resolution on any window - well, I can click on that options, but then i just can't apply any custom settings. I tried all control panels I could find - nothing work. I can choose 1920x1200 in "custom resolution" panel, but when I try to "Apply" - that nothing happens. It's really pain in the below, to watch 1600x1200 on 1920x1200 monitor, so I hope you can help me.

I have
OS: Win7 64bit
GPU: Gainward GTX260
Monitor: Gateway FPD2485W

I tried old and new drivers, from NVidia and form Gainward. Same result. I heard about custom display drivers made in notepad, what is that about?

Here's the link to your monitor. It has some Eztune software on their that allows your monitor to pivot. Perhaps this software will also help with your resolution settings.
From ExTune readme:
"EzTune is not a monitor driver. The correct driver for Gateway monitors is the Generic Plug and Play driver. While EzTune is not required for Gateway monitors to function just as any other monitor, EzTune is required to access many of the advanced features of Gateway displays."

I'm begging for help.

BTW. While readme says "The correct driver for Gateway monitors is the Generic Plug and Play driver", my monitor is found by Windows as "Generic Non-PnP Monitor". Could this be it? How do I fix that?

What type of video cable are you using?

You said Nvidia drivers, but what model card do you have?

Standard VGA. I have this VGA-DVI adaptor on the graphic card, and then VGA in monitor.

Gainward GTX260 896MB
