Very weird. I am using Rivatuner and AtiTool with the 4.12 cat drivers on my 9800XT. The default clock is 411/364, and when I change the core up to, say 470 in AtiTool, there are artifacts in the render window but when I run 3DMark there are no artifacts. Overclocks are recognized in AtiTool from Rivatuner and vice versa. I uninstalled/installed 4.12 drivers, rebooted many times, and that I can tell my overclock is not going through.

I have the Zalman Heatpipe cooler installed on my 9800XT.

Thanks!

Wow! Slow down dude!
That was one heafty overclock you tried!
You are overclocking too much

i guess you should just throw it away (or give it to me) and get an x800 xt pe ;)

definetly go less overclock, that is quite high for just starting.

if i was your 9800 i would artifact too

Try saving the profile and making sure it's enabled for both the 2D and 3D profiles. Then fire up 3dmark again.

did that.

i tried 470 so i would push it so far so that I was SURE there would be artifacts (to see if my overclock is registering with the hardware components)

my problem is not artifacts, it's that i'm not getting them. my overclock isn't effecting my hardware.
