Cant overclock cpu after installing sata os drive!!!

Was hitting 3.6 with ease could of went higher i believe but was happy. Installed a 32gb patriot ssd as os drive and i can barley get 3ghz to run stable???! any ideas im lost. i cleared cmos and made sure settings were good.
 
Unplugged all sata devices and can oc to 3.6 no sweat plug my sata drives back in and bam barley 3.0ghz.... my old os drive was ide i tried a pci sata controller but it never loads drives at boot?
 
yes set to 100. i can software oc to 3.5ghz but i dint like doing that way :(
