For some reason i can't overclock the BFG 7800GTX SLI setup.

Whats with these cards? I can overclock them with Ntune buy moving the sliders up to 480 from 460 and 1400 from 1300 but when i reboot they default back.

I created a profile for them in Ntune with those settings and even lower OC's and the profile doesn't work on bootup it says when i force a load of the profile that there was a prolem loading the C:\Ntune profiles\whatever the name is.

This gives me reason to believe that they can't overclclock at all by themselves whought me doing it manually every time i boot up and im using the latest forceware drivers and also im watercooling them also.

Ntune is terrible for overclocking even with the Profiles thing I could never get an overclock to stick.

Get Rivatuner.

Thats good.

Anyone know here about overclocking the 7800GTX? I heard it was a diffucult card to do it with.

No one?

I need a good overclock on these 7800's I don't want to use an app that has to start with windows.

How aobut flashing the boards with overclocks ive tested for hours withought artifacts, maybe that would work.

Ntune = sucks (it never saves overclocks)
Rivatuner = good (except it uses small amount of resources and adds to boot time)
Flashing firmware = best, i do this method after i've tested the cards to find the safest overclock and never worry about changing the overclock when installing new drivers, or extra loading programs with profiles.

You can get all your info on flashing from the SLI sticky in the nvidia forum.

Edit, you really only need these links from that thead:
http://www.techpowerup.com/articles/overclocking/vidcard/34 (how to use the program and also booting off media)
http://www.mvktech.net/index.php?option=com_remository&Itemid=26&func=selectcat&cat=2 (finding the newest bios here)

I have sli 7800gtx's and I just used coolbits ( nvidias built in overclocking tool thats needs to be unlocked via the registry, it can also be set to use profiles on startup but coolbits doesnt work with the 8800s or so I am led to believe so I have stopped using it, but it works for everything else, even with the new nvidia drivers interface ) to overclock and also rivatuner, but if you are overclocking sli you need to make sure both cards have the same frequencies or the one who has the faster speed will auto downclock to the speed of the slower one thus making your overclocking useless.

All in all, the 78s are easy to overclock.

I also agree that Ntune is a piece of shit and its a stain on nvidia's character, how could the greatest videocard manufacturer release a piece of shit like that and also its firewall software, 2 major mistakes from nvidia if you ask me.
