can't install windows, plz help

Here's the specs of the pc im having trouble with:

xp 2500+
a7n8x mb
2x256 geil 3200
ati 9800 pro
wd se 80gb hd

So one day i start up my pc and it won't boot into windows. I found this rather odd since it's been working great for the last year or so. I tried booting into safe mode, no luck.

Then i tried to format and install a fresh copy of Win XP. But i get this error, 'setup cannot create this folder' \windows\system32\oobe\setup\. I've tried using two different win xp cds in either my burner or dvd with no luck. I also tried reseting the CMOS.

Im thinking its the MB, or possibly the hard drive. But I cant be sure, im no expert
Any help would be greatly appreciated, i really need to use this pc.

did you try @ stock speeds? ... just a suggestion if you haven't allready

what does it say? try clearing the cmos..

The proc is running at stock speeds and i've tried reseting the cmos. Im gonna get ahold of a old athon 800 system thats just sitting in my parents basement and try swapping out parts.
