Cant install Windows on SATA

OK.. I jsut got done building a rig for a friends.. Here is what weve got

MSI KT6V
AMD XP 2600
1gb DDR400-3200
80gb Seagate Barracuda 7200.7 (ST380013AS)

Just trying to install ont he SATA, i popped in the WinXP Cd, and after it loaded up it couldnt find a HDD.. I checked the BIOS and it knows its there, but it thinks its trying to be part of a RAID array, but there are no options to change it.. I updated to the latest BIOS and still nothing..

I installed an IDE drive and put XP on that so i could run some Diags on it but Im still comming up with nothing..

To be clear, I JUST want the 80gb SATA in there with Win XP installed, its found in BIOS, but not by the windows CD.. Any suggestions.. The faster we get this done determines how much sleep ill get..

When you first pop in the windows CD and it takes you that blue background screen you have about 3 seconds to hit F6 and get a screen where you can load "SCSI" drivers. Thats where you want to be.
 
Yeah, I tried that...
I get 2 options.. Install from a FLOPPY DISC.. or it will like auto install a bunch of them.. well, it seems that mine isnt ont he list, because the drive still isnt recognised..

what now? Ive got a 13 hours shift tomorrow, so I need to get done soon..

Borrow a FD if you dont have one and download a SATA driver from the manufacturer's site. Thats your best bet if MS CD doesnt support it.
 
Ok.. I found a floppy drive, grabbed the VIA RAID drivers and put them on a disk.. when i accesed the disk via the WinXP install w/F6 for RAID support.. I tried to use the disk and it couldnt find a file called txtsetup.OEM ... I searched thru all the driver fils and couldnt find the file... so, i got on seagates website and found a Drive utility.. made a boot CD and booted to it.. setup the hard drive as a Bootable dive, and im still gettin Squat..

I installed another CDrom so I could boot to the XP cd, F6, and try and get the drivers or ANYTHING off the utility Cd, but it wont look anywhere other than A:\ ..

Anyone else got any ideas?

Yeah, I forgot to say I got it working..

I HAD to have a floppy drive so I dug and dug and dug till I found one, came up to work and got some Floppys, and had to try out like 3 different things.. ended up having to use the like SEAGATE installer thing to prepare the drive to have windows on it, then I had to run the Windows CD for 3rd party drivers and it finally got it installed.. man, that was a pain..
It wouldnt have been so bad had I been able to use a Thumbdrive or a CD with the drivers.. I hate how I need ancient technology to run new technology..
