Can’t Hit Memory XMP Speeds on AMD AM4? Try Hard Resetting the EFI (

This isn't limited to the third gen Ryzens and/or X570. I had to do this for my 2700X and X470 to get the DDR4 voltage setting to take effect in UEFI. It ignored the setting until I pressed the CMOS reset button. This was right after a BIOS update on a fresh out-of-the-box build.

That's good info to know thanks. I am on x470 with the r5 2600 I have never changed my ram since I built my rig so have never come across this. I just loaded XMP profile 1 and installed windows. I have bin planning to try overclocking my ram, but never got around to it. The memmory kit I have is:
Team Group Vulcan T-Force 16GB (2x8GB) DDR4 PC4-24000C16 3000MHz Dual Channel Kit - Grey (TLGD416G30

I don't know if they are very overclockable.

and if that doesn't work then make sure XMP is turned off and set the timings manually. Works wonders ... really

^^^ that and dont be surprised if they need a little extra voltage. xmp is technically a intel thing. amd has their own that i cant recall the name of...
