Can't get Cat Control Center to open

Every time I try to open it I get an error I just reformatted and switched over from Nvidia I get an error that says Application failed to initialize properly (0xc0000135).
 
upgrade your .net framework to the beta 2 of the .net framework, or simply uninstall that and use the classic control panel until version 5.1 of catalyst gets released next week. It's a bug in the ati catalyst control center.
 
This was my problem as well. Its not documented as a fix anywhere or on ATI's website I don't belive. Here's what I did to correct the problem. Unistall the drivers your currently using. Unitstall Catalyst Control Center. Install your drivers again except this time chose custom install instead of express, and install only the display drivers. Then install CCC. Should work. Post back if it corrects your problem so others may benefit.

I have the same problem running games at certain resolutions. For example, my max refresh rate at 1600x1200 is 60hz. I've tried refresh rate overides to no avail. Try what I suggested in the earlier post and CCC should open for ya.
 
You overide the refresh rates in the monitor's section of the ati driver. I have done it with both the control center and the regular drivers and it works fine.

When I was having this problem (i've since switched to the NON control center driver package) There was an option on my desktop right click context menu to "restart driver" or something like that...
