I have an A7N8X Delux with Sound Storm and I cant get my music to play in 5.1, It is hooked up via analog to my Promedia 5.1 ultras. The front L and R play and the sub, but the center doesnt work. I ran the speaker setup in the "Nvidia Mixer" and then all the speaker seemed to work. Then when i go to play a song, only stereo. Any Idea what I should do? Thanks.

It'll only play in the number of channels that the source is. So if you play for example a stereo mp3 it will only play through two speakers. One thing you can do is enable "clone" mode in the surroud settings tab. That will send the signal to the rear channels. Also, the center is rarely used exxept in DVDs.

Thanks for the help, I went into doom3 and played and all the channels worked perfectly, and it sounded awesome (I'm so glad I bought these). I have clone mode enabled yet it still doesnt play to the rear for some reason... I wonder what could be wrong. Any suggestions?

It could possibly be due to the fact that your using analog instead of digital. I wonder if the clone mode processing is done by the Dolby encoder. All I've used is the digital out never the analog.

One more thing to try. Are you using Winamp? If so go into preferences, select output, highlight DirectSound output and click the configure tab. From the pull down make sure nForce os selected and enable hardware acceleration is checked for clone to work with Winamp.

The funny thing is when I hard the older drivers (the ones that had the nV system center console) and a set of z-640s it worked. I also tried the digital connection to my receiver. still just two channel.

Another thing is when I am doing the setup wizard and it asks about surround, it plays a little demo song, and when I choose clone it plays to all the speakers. Then when I finish the setup and play a song, no surround... Its almost like nVidia took a step backwards with their newer drivers.
