Cant get 2 monitors to work.. help..

I have a Viewsonic VX2235wm and a Viewsonic VA2012wb monitor. Both monitors work by themselves when plugged into my 7800gt. But no matter which DVI plug I use on the card, only 1 of them will be detected at a time. I can swap the wires.. same thing.. only 1 works. Is there something im missing here? Is my only solution to get another video card?

If so.. getting another 7800gt, can I sli, AND use it for the second monitor? Or should I just grab any pcie card I can get my hands on..
 
Have you tried hooking up the monitors while the machine is off and then turning it back on? I had problems with my 8800 GTX doing Dual Monitors. It would do hortizal and vertical span but wouldn't do each monitors as one display until I rebooted.
 
Yea, ive rebooted the machine several times, reinstalled the video drivers.. no luck. Only detects one at a time. I guess another "odd" thing was that when I switched monitor inputs on the video card, even though the 22" wasnt on the primary (1) jack, it was still the only one to turn on. It completely ignored the 20" I had plugged in instead. So.. no matter which jack I put the 22" on, its the only one to come on, until I unplug it.
 
I just tried using the analog input on the 20" and I could get it to come up. But if I try to use teh DVI again.. it goes blank. Why cant I use both DVI jacks at the same time?

Another thing thats odd is I cant get it to switch to 1680x1050 for monitor #2 while in analog.. even though its the resolution of that monitor. It looks like crap this way :(
