I just got a new mobo and processor and Ive been running Vista and Win 7 to see which OS I want to go with full time. I tried installing XP but when I go to format the partition I get an error saying the HD is damaged. If I choose "leave file system intact" I keep getting error messages that files are missing. I ran into this a couple of years ago when I was beta testing Vista but I dont remember how I got around it. The drive tests as good and I got XP installed on a different partition. I remember reading an article that said there was a certain procedure to go through to get rid of Vista. Thanks

It's possible that the cd is dirty, scratched, or possibly a bad burn from the .iso file.
