Cant flash 1900 XT Adaptor Not Found?

Maybe someone here has had this issue , but I have been attempting to flash the BIOS on my GeCube 1900XT to the ATI 1900XTX bios without much luck. Here is what I have tried so far...

1.) I tried Atiwinflash and it will not run in Windows X64 edition.
2.) Tried Atiflash from a DOS boot disk using numerous tutorials and no matter what I do I get a "Adaptor Not Found" error , the same thing happens in FlashRom.

I am at a loss here , I have flashed many a bios in my day and have never ran into so much diffuculty. Is there something I am missing here? System specs are in my sig. Thanks in advance for you help!
 
If you don't have samsung 1.1 memory than it shouldn't work.

Also, IIRC, you need to flash it using the same brand you bought.
 
I'm having the same problem, though I'm trying to recover from a bad flash.
 
really fellas, if you have the 1.1 ram modules on an XT you should just OC it to an XTX, there are many variables that can cause a bad flash and the opinion of many is that it just aint worth the headach...all you get is a card that is "seen" be the OS as an xtx, oc'ing is alot safer.

Even though I flashed it myself, I agree with this. Simply OC your card using ATI tool.
 
You guys aren't even addressing his problem.

It is true, ATI Winflash will not work with Windows x64.

However there is a version of Flashrom that will allow flash in dos.

I'm pretty sure the bios flash changes memory timings and voltages, allowing for even more overclocking headroom. So an unflashed XT couldn't reach the same speeds as one flashed with the XTX bios.
