Does anyone know of a retailer in North America that carries this particular R9 270X or even any reference 270x's ? I want one that exhausts most of the hot air out the back of the case and all of the reviews of the two fan models say that they dump most inside due to the shroud design.

Newegg sold that exact style for the 7950 i bought last year. Odd that they dont stock it for 270

For real. I would think I could find some reference cards someplace in the US. UK has some but if I got a bad one, I wouldn't want the hassle and added expense of overseas shipping.

A 7870 would be ok as long as it exhausts well. That way I won't have to add any fans. Just looking to get some mantle support to squeeze a little more life out of my aging system until I have enough for a new cpu,mobo and ram.
 
Amazon has it, although it does indicate a 2-4wk wait it's not uncommon for me to order stuff with that status and have it show up within the standard shipping time. Not saying that will happen for you, but there it is.

Lol ya tends to be the way it is. For a bit more you get blower style and non reference cooling. Wish more cards had that. Seams pretty optimal for multi card solutions. Plus at 1100mhz core it's probably at least on par with 270x if not faster.
