So a buddy brought over a desktop pc a old compaq sr1517cl and a windows 7 ultimate 32bit disc. I installed windows fine but I cannot adjust the res over 1024x768. From what I have read so far online the MFG only made drivers in xp. It is SiS 760 display adapter.
I already have windows 7 tied to the board and cannot find a working driver for the life of me. If anyone can help out I would appreciate it. I need to adjust the res way above 1024x768

I ended up getting a driver and it allows me to change the res but if I put it at or above 1280x720 it says invalid format. I can run it at 1152x864 but then I have to move the mouse up and down to see the whole screen and the same for it going side to side. This is so frustrating. All I need to do is get the display adapter working right then do a sound driver and install a antivirus and I am done

i am ready to give up for the night. Every time i google search i gotta wean thru these bullshit sites that want me to install some driver checker that wants you to pay for it. This is gonna be a long night.

If anyone here can find a legit link to the actual driver download i would greatly appreciate it.

its not that simple. From what I have read online there is no way of doing over 1024 x 768 without buying a video card and doing it like that.
