Can't Enable z68 ssd caching

I'm in the middle of building a computer for a friend.

Have the OS installed in seagate 2tb and the SSD connected but unformatted.
SATA is in raid mode in the BIOS.
I have the newest intel RST, and the accelerate button will not show UP!

What am I doing wrong here. Ive tried countless things to get this to work and nothing will.
 
Well I gave up. For anyone else who may have this problem, I think it might have been because I was using a Pentium g645. I'm not sure that caching is supported on anything but the core series of cpu's. But I could be wrong.
 
I can't remember reliably, but I'm pretty sure I had to partition my son's ssd and format it for it to be available via RST.
 
I tried basically everything. First I had it connected when installing windows. Windows created its 100mb system partition on it and windows was installed to the HDD. No luck with that setup, regardless of whether or not I partitioned, either formatted or unformatted. Then I reinstalled windows with the SSD disconnected, and deleted the system partition. Tried that setup with it formatted and unformatted. No such luck. In the end the SSD is 64gb which while cutting it close is enough to hold a conservative users OS and apps. So I just installed Windows on the SSD and moved all the windows Libraries to the HDD.
 
Was the SSD just unformatted or even unpartitioned? SRT works on the plain SSD.
 
Yeah unpartitioned, partitioned but informatted, and formatted unpartitioned, and unformatted unpartitioned were tried. Whatever was causing it I couldn't be bothered anymore. Got the OS installed on the SSD and for what my friend is going to install there is more than enough space.
