My Mushkin PC3200 special 2-2-2 finally arrived today, replacing the KVR PC3200 512mb. (CL3)

Before, I had it overclocked to 2.2GHz using the KVR, with 11x mutiplier and 200FSB @1.60v. It worked perfectly. When I replaced it with the new Mushkin, the computer refused to load windows (I used the same settings)
It COULD boot but I get the "windows did no start sucessfully last time" I chose run windows normally, safe mode and I get the same screen over and over (the one where you choose to run windows in safe mode, normal, revert to last settings etc)

The ram timings are 2-2-2-6, it is set to "optimal" in bios.

Would increasing more voltage for the ram work? (WB BH6)

It may but don't go to high.

Make sure to check the DIMMs are seated properly, wiggle them around or pull them out and put them back in and see if that helps.

Also try dling and running Memtestx86, if it fails then its time to RMA your RAM...

its not the voltage, something is wrong as its not even working at stock.

run memtest86 too see if its the memory for sure or if its the cpu thats unstable.

You may have to bump up the voltage. Mushkin's specs say 2.5-2.8V, so bump it up and see what it'll do.

What timings would your old memory do? Might want to try putting the old stuff back in to see if that resolves the issue or if maybe something else got screwed up.

Oh, and FYI, 2-2-2-10 or 11 will give you a bit of a performance boost.

I tried 2-3-3-6 and it works @ 2.6v

2-2-2-11 would not work @ 2.6v but I haven't tried 2.7, 2.8 or 2.9v

going to run memtest86 now...

I did 2-2-2-11 @ 2.7v , ran memtest86 (test 5) for 5 times and it passed. :)
