So I have to admit, I-tunes is one of the crapiest music players I've ever used. Ever since I new anything about computers, I've always used Winamp. And I downloaded the I-pod plug in when I got my first I-pod 2 years ago. Now I just updated to the most recent version of Winamp today and I had to reinstall the I-Pod plugin. So I reinstalled everything, plugged in my Nano, and it wanted to retransfer my entire library, which was already on the nano, so I figured what the heck and did it. So I retransfer and delete all the old songs, figured it might be something in the formatting with the new player. And so after it got done transferring everything, it wouldn't let me eject my I-Pod, and the pod was still displaying "Do not disconnect." I couldn't even eject it from the safely remove devie icon. I actually had to close out of winamp and then eject it from safely remove device icon. But then after I did that, my I-Pod wouldn't charge.......

What's goin on?

It can charge once you "eject" it from Winamp/iTunes.

But once you remove it safely through Windows it will NOT charge.

That guy above is a moron..Winamp is the best...too bad there aren't many alts for osx.
really wish there was...but anyway..
this is evident with blackberrys as well..if the device isn't installed or connected etc it charges a lot slower. (plugin bb into usb without desktop manager)

i bet your ipod would charge but very very crippled charging.
